Hi. Craig Lambie here, the Chief IT Guru here at the Auspicious Arts Incubator with another Hot Tip because it’s Tuesday. Actually this week it’s not exactly a tip. I’m going to share with you an idea that I had to interview some really successful artists because I think you need to hear about how to apply these tips that we give you every week in a much better way. I’m going to look at doing long format interviews under another banner. I’m going to dissect and reconstruct worldwide artists from all areas of the arts visual arts, performing arts, corporate training using the arts, art therapy, you name it. I’m going to extract the tactics and tools and habits and beliefs that make them tick so that you can apply them too.
One thing became really clear to me. In this last week I’ve been doing some professional development with JP and a whole bunch of conversations with artists lately and notice this question. Can you truly imagine making a living from your art? Can you really imagine making a $100,000 a year from your art? Or you’re just like no chance.
You are so valuable to society and a hundred thousand a year is nothing in comparison to the amount of value that you are adding so I want to help you to be able to see a $100,00 a year from your art because that is making a real living. This week’s tip is do you know what is stopping you? I want you to write in the comments whether you’re able to see that. Tell me about it. What does it look like? What does it feel like? What do you see? If you cannot see it at all why is that? Tell me why that is in the comments.
I dont want excuses. I dont want any of the thems. Oh, it’s the government. Oh, it’s the audience. Oh, people aren’t coming. Oh, people dont like art. That is BS and you know it. It really is because there are hundreds of people buying art every week. There are artists out there that are hugely successful. You just need to learn why. I want the real reason why you’re not making it written below. It might be hard but you can do it.
