Hi, it’s John Paul Fischbach, Chief Alchemist and CEO here at the Auspicious Arts Incubator. Welcome to Hot Tip Tuesday. The title this week is why do they love you. The topic this week is part of my desire to help you find better language to market yourself in your art. I’m making the assumption that your art is awesome. I’m also making the assumption that people have already told you that you’re talented and they’ve told you that your work is good.
You need to learn the words that describe the impact your work has on your fans. There’s a related Hot Tip called the Delta Effect which is part of this same idea. Your fans talk about you. 87% of the people that experience art talk about it after the experience. That is a true statistic. They describe you and your work. You need to know that they say. How do they describe your work? How do they recognize it’s one of your pieces of art? Why do they like your work? How does it make them feel? What does it make them think of? Whatever they say is way more valid for marketing purposes than anything you could possibly think of.
The reason is that you’re creating it. You’re on the inside. They’re experiencing it. They’re on the outside. They’re talking about it and they’re talking about it and they’re actively marketing you so it’s important to know what they say.
We’ve released an entire quick fix called Discover Your Brand Value that takes you through the full understanding of how to gather this vital marketing and how to use it. You can check it out on our website but for now I want you to start asking your fans why they love you. The next time someone compliments you or your work if it’s appropriate and you have the time and the relationship with them. Thank them and ask them to help you figure out the strongest way to promote your art. Ask them one of those questions. Ask them how do you describe my work. Ask them how do you recognize that it’s one of my pieces. Ask them how does my work make your feel. What does my work make you think?
If getting marketing language is something that you need to work on please like this video. If you know someone who is about to do a performance or an exhibition please share this video with them? They’re going to have a golden opportunity to get this language. What I’d love to hear is the difference between the compliment and the impact.
Write some notes below this and let’s get all of us used to using the language of impact because here at the Auspicious Arts Incubator we more than want you to survive. We actually want you to thrive. The best way to thrive is to subscribe to Hot Tip Tuesday and try a different tactic each week. See you later.
