Hi, John Paul Fischbach, Chief Alchemist and CEO here at the Auspicious Arts Incubator. This week’s tip is a Morning Warm up. Athletes warm up. Musicians warm up. Actors warm up. If we know how to use this performance technique in our art why is it that we dont use it in our business. I think there’s too many of us that leap into the work day with no warm up.

It’s kind of confusing. How do you expect to be operating at your peak performance at work with no warm up? That’s why I’m sharing this little productivity tip. It’s called the First 30. It’s the first 30 minutes of your day. The start of the day is the best time to warm up for a good day. The first 30 is divided into three 10 minute blocks. Stretching for 10 minutes, meditating for 10 minutes and then strategizing for 10 minutes because every day could be a good and productive high performance day so you could try this every day but please at least try this on the days when you really need to be at your best and see how it goes.

For me it’s all about warming up the body, the mind and the spirit so start with 10 minutes devoted to stretching. If you need inspiration google morning stretching exercises. You’ll get heaps. Then move into 10 minutes for meditation. If you google 10 minute meditation you’ll find heaps of guided meditations and you’ll probably find my favorite Zen 12.

Then finally it’s 10 minutes for strategy. Think about it. What do you want to accomplish today? See it, feel it, hear how it will be when you get what you want to get out of the day. What do you want to have the day play out like? What’s it feel like? What’s it sound like? What’s the one thing that you could do today that would really propel your career? That’s it. 10 for stretching, 10 for meditating and 10 for strategy. 30 minutes you’re set to go.

If this tip was helpful to you to get your day started because you know the value of a warm up then like this video. If you know someone else was kind of sluggish in their day or could pick up their game and be operating at a higher peak performance share the video with them. What I’d love to know is if you find great sites, great stretches or great meditation in your googling that you use for 10 minutes please share them below. Let’s spread that good information around a bit. Here at the Auspicious Arts Incubator we more than want you to survive we actually want you to thrive. In order to thrive join us here every Tuesday for a Hot Tip by subscribing.
