It’s hard to know where to start
STARTING MY ARTS BUSINESS is a self-directed short course created of 4 modules with 16 lessons created by artists for artists to help you take the correct first steps to get serious about your art as your business.
Why is it so confusing to start an arts business?
You have a great idea. Your friends tell you how talented you are.
“You should do this full time” …yeah, but how?
Where to start?
It’s all so overwhelming.
You don’t what to make mistakes. You’re willing to put in the effort, time and money but you want to do it right. You need some guidance to do things the right way.
You don’t know what it will take to make this work. Getting advice and information from people who’ve done it successfully is the key to making it work for you.
So many options, so many rabbit holes. It’s important to follow a well proven map.
We’ve created that map for you.
"I have actually just done what they said and it worked!"
Lancoolie artist
"The support of the Auspicious Arts Incubator has been nothing less than an epiphany."
Andrea Lemon, Kids Thrive
"I am actually LOVING the program. I have already learned so much and wish I had found out about it sooner. "

My name is John Paul Fischbach and I’ve helped thousands of artists and other creative entrepreneurs create and re-engineer creative businesses.
I’ve been a creative entrepreneur all my life and have started many small businesses (Theatre, Film, Opera, Festivals, Children’s books, Apps). Over the years I’ve learned all about business and marketing.
Since 2007 I’ve been helping other artists learn what I did in order to run their own profitable arts business though the Auspicious Arts Incubator.

My name is Alia Vryens and I’ve started businesses and projects in just about every art form imaginable. I’m an emerging-mid career artist, who’s in the process of doing all the things we’re talking about in this course right now, using the tools right now and discovering cool new things right now.
I’m a craftsperson, jeweler, game maker, theatre maker, musician, actor, comedian, touring performing artist, graphic designer, video editor… you name it! I self-produce all my projects, sometimes working solo and sometimes as part of a small team.
I’ve stared down the barrel of the beginning phase of a new business more times than I can count, and I’m excited to share with you what I’ve learnt.
