Hi. It’s John Paul Fischbach, the CEO and Chief Alchemist here at the Auspicious Arts Incubator with another Hot Tip for this Tuesday. This week I want to focus on excuses. Excuses being the key. What is the biggest excuse that you’ve been using to hold back your artistic career? Is it that someone or something is holding you back? Do you here yourself saying things I can’t because I dont have the time or I can’t because I dont have the money or I can’t because I dont know how?
I want you to take a second. Right now, pause the video and write the excuse that you are using or the limitation that you say you have. Do it. Pause, do that. This week I challenge you to allow your excuses for not having your life the way you want to become the very key for your success. The next part of this tip will only work if you have an excuse so write one down. Then after you have written that write this question, how can I use this situation to move me to new thoughts and new actions right now? How I can use this situation to move me to new thoughts and new actions right now? Then just start writing.
Push yourself. I want you to come up with 20 things that you could do right now, things that are positive, that are action based. The key to this exercise is to be ferociously curious and just let it flow. Some of the things that you’re going to write down, some of the answers will be crazy, some of them will be unachievable. That’s okay. Just keep going. You’re going to hit two dry spells, push through them. You’re going to write and you’re going to go uh, think that’s it. Push through that pause and keep writing. There’s going to be two of those. Excuses and limitations are often your subconscious mind tapping you on the shoulder just to get you to notice the thing that you want to change.
