Hi, Craig Lambie here; the Chief Tech Guru here at the Auspicious Arts Incubator. This week I wanted to talk about websites. I’m a big fan of WordPress and I still recommend a self-hosted WordPress website,if you’re doing anything slightly complicated. If you want to do online sales, you want to have more than about five pages on your website WordPress is the way to go but I wanted to also introduce you to another service which I think is quite cool is called Wix.
If you’ve just got a small project or an exhibition and you want to make up a small website, up to about five pages, then Wix is fantastic. It’s drag and drop. It’s just like working inside a publishing service like Illustrator or working in Word even. It’s drag and drop. It’s easier than Word I think. If you’ve got a simple website then Wix is the way to go.
If you’ve got a complex system that you want to build or you’re sort of medium sized organization you want to start blogging, things like this then WordPress is the way to go.
