Hi, John Paul Fischbach, CEO and Chief Alchemist here at the Auspicious Arts Incubator with another Hot Tip because it’s Tuesday. This Hot Tip is part of the Boosting Confidence Series that we started back with Hot Tip 49 because we learned that a major issue that came out of the 2015 Independent Artists Profile was a lack of confidence. A lot of artists commented that they were lacking confidence and that if they had more confidence they could take their business further.

Successful people exude confidence dont they? They believe in themselves and what they’re doing. It isn’t their success that makes them confident. A track record of success certainly helps but what we know is that the confidence was there first. It’s an internal thing and it’s deeply connected to your belief systems.

There is a difference between conceit and confidence. Confidence means that you believe that you can. There’s two things to consider. Confidence is developed through hard work. Confidence is developed over time. The second thing is confident people are self-aware.

When you’re confidence exceeds your abilities you’ve crossed the line into arrogance and conceit. True confidence is firmly planted in reality. To grow your confidence it’s important to an honest and accurate self-assessment of your abilities.

Let’s try that right now. Here’s a little exercise we give to artists that work with us. It’s really awesome.

Let’s start with your strengths. I’d like you to pretend that you are hiring someone to do your job. I want you to list the qualities that they’re going to need to have to do what you do really well. So well that you would hire them to replace you so make a list. Those might be trustworthiness, honesty, creativity, ability to multi task. Whatever those qualities are list them. Great because that is the seeds of your confidence because you already have those qualities.

If getting confidence is something that you struggle with getting help with confidence is a thing and we can help with that. That’s why we created the Artist Mojo Course. You can check it out on our website.

The point is confidence starts from within. Take that little exercise. Make a list of those qualities that you have and I bet your confidence is going to improve. If that tip was helpful please like the video. If you know someone that has confidence but it’s under wraps send them this video. Help share.

What I would love to know is a list of the qualities that a CEO independent artist who multitasks has. I’d love it if you put those in the comments section below and we can get a list of the qualities it takes to be an artist in business because here at the Auspicious Arts Incubator we really want you to more than survive. We actually want you to thrive. In order to thrive you need to subscribe. We’ll see you next week for another Hot Tip.
